I'm going to leave it alone for right now.... I'm thinking that that 1/2" is not going to make a difference.....

cut it off and redo it now while the car is torn down. You don't want to look at the car later and wish you had that extra 1/2" than have to tear the front end apart again to get it. Don't want a future shoulda, woulda, coulda moments, lol.

Put the suspension thru some cycles this evening.... here it is with the crossmember only about 3/4" off the floor. The upper ball joint is maxed out.... so it's not going any lower without changing the UCA's you could pie cut the upper control arms some and bend those upper controls down roughly 5 degrees to give you the extra clearance you need to lay fully out. Then basically weld them back up and all would be good.

I'm going to start working on the floorboards and firewall next... ;D I may not have to recut the subframe when I get done.... But if for some reason I needed 3/4" instaed of 1/2" I don't want to cut it a 3rd time....

I'm going to just get some drop spindles which will relive some angle on the balljoints and it will put the crossmember on the ground....plus give me a lower ride heigth, with better suspension angles... Eventuall I'm going to replace the upper arms with some SC&C adjustable ones.

Not much for updates.... but I did push the car outside to clean out the garage so I snapped a couple of pics..... Right now the car is back in the garage and tore back down waiting on me to cut out the floor so I can get to building the rear 4-link. I'm actually thinking the the uppers will have to be a wishbone due to the space limitations.

No.... the rest was not a real supprise since the passenger quarter had 5 gallons of bondo on it..... the passenger door had about a gallon on it, both front fenders have 1/2 a gallon in the lower corners , and the drivers rear lowere quarter has roughly 1 1/2 on it..... Damn I think I should have bought stock in Bondo...LOL Oh there was one other funny area..... apparently at some point there were wide rear tires and they did not quite fit.... so someone used a 2.5lb sledge to make clearence in the inside wheel wells....

I really think this car should have been the one on the bondo can instead of a Mustang....

Here are a couple of slow progress pics.... The front cross member and lower bar mounts. and a quick shot of the rear... I'll get a better pic when I pull it out for final fitment and welding of the brackets.
