I got my tweeters mounted but was wondering if I mounted them close enough to the midrange for good sound quality. Also another quick question. I have an orion hcca 250g5 amplifier that will be powering 2 12" eclipse aluminum subs model number sw8122. The subs are single voice coil 4 ohm subs. If I bridge them I can drop it to 2 ohms into the amp. But the problem is I think the orion amp was made for very low resistance like 1 to 1/2 ohm. I dont know..im not an audio guru. Can someone mabey find the spects on my amp and tell me if it will be enough to drive my subs?

Damn Frank, you gonna make us do everything? You should've at least kept the manuals for all your stuff. I still have the box, birth sheet, AND manual from my old RF amp that's like 8 years old. I'll see if I can find some specs on your amp, but if you're sure it's 1 or 1/2 ohm stable like you say then you'll be fine wiring the subs together into a 2 ohm load and bridging the amp. The tweets should be fine. Their closeness to the mids isn't as important as the distance of each side from your ear for setting up the sound stage...

My subs will be running bridged at 2 ohms. With the 250g5 powering them will I only get 100 watts out of it? Man this sucks...I think I need a new amp

They'd be seeing 400w because you have the amp bridged into 1 channel...

Well for now I will keep this amp. Later on I will sell it and get something bigger. Mabey a JL 1000/1. Theseb subs really need to be in the 500-600 rms range.

I'm pretty sure though, Frank, that your amp will be running at 1ohm with a 2ohm bridged load on it. So your speakers would be getting 800w. But when I asked on my audio forums to confirm it they just confused me. I guess that's what I get for getting an answer from an audio engineer. You can try to make sense of it if you think you can.

Hey no need to dis me man... I will see what happens. Im goin to run the orion and see how it is. If I dont like it then I will buy something else then. I know yes I may not know much about this..but im asking to see if this is the right amp for my subs. From looking at the spects I dont think it will be enough. That quote from the audio forum you got is no good for me. I understand that he is saying if you wire the subs parallel to each other and bridge them to the amp the resistance will drop in half to allow more wattage come in. The thing is that the orion amp was really ment to go down the 1 ohm scale to work. They are racing amps as people in competitions call them. They bring an amp that is way underated and blow people away. But we will see....

I got the gromet in there and also got the thing airtight. I took gorrila snot and put in the areas I thought would leak. After I did the glueing I took a ciggarete and put it in an ash tray with the subs in. I was looking for smoke leaving any areas to see if it was leaking. May sound ghetto but thats the only way that I could think of to figure out how to test for airtighness. I took the mount for the x over and glued it on there with gorrila snot. I raised it a little and put a piece of plexiglass in there. I will get it to light up with some type of sticker. Debating on putting a club affiliation sticker there or a C2C sticker. I took the plexiglass that the amps are on and painted them black. With them beign routed it looked kinda rough so I cleaned it up a little by painting it. It wont be seen but I kept the edges not painted so it look bright right there. I still need some LEDS though cause well only 2 out of 5 work. But its coming a long well!!

well install is done but I have minor problems. I got the alternator whining noise going to my rca's and....well.....my sub amp fried. It went into protect mode and I tried to take the subs out and re wire them to not beign bridged anymore to make it 4 ohm. Well I played it for about 30 seconds and I heard a cracking noise from the amp and guess what....here comes the smoke! I was worried my truck would get on fire so I immediatly disconnected the power and ground. I guess I have to get a new amp. But here are some picts....
