One step closer... Just seeing how things fit. The bench seat is about 3" off the floor. Mmm... sexy.

Well it's been a while since I've posted any updates so here's what I'm working on right now. led corners... First corner is done. I still have to adjust the led placement a bit but here's a little preview:

those look good, did you have to do anything special or just slip the LEDs in?

Damn have I been slackin. I have project threads on a lot of different sites but have only really been updating the one on our site and S10Forum. Here's a quick rundown of the updates. I drove it to it's first show. The show we host for the American Cancer Society - Custom Rides for Saving Lives. I can officially say it's been in Minitruckin now. They had our show coverage in the Jan '08 issue and 1 1/2 of my doors can be seen behind another truck. ;D After all the bodywork was done Pooch shot it in a coat of DP90. This would have been done sooner but we were busy emptying some stands to put the doors on. ;D Everyone loves the LED tails but unfortunatly I've had problems with about 75% of the clusters. They've all been sent back to Michael at Custom Classic and he agrees that they have problems but can't understand why. He's going to try to rebuild them and have them back to me by April 1st. I have most of the gauges working now I've been kinda lazy this winter but after I insulated and drywalled my garage I've started doing some work again. I'm trying to fix some oil leaks on the V8 and I've started doing a little work on the interior. Here's the rear seats from an '04 CTS-V. And the fronts just set in place to see how it'll look with the SRX console.

It's looking good in the DP90 man, and that interior is gonna be beyond comfortable!

Thanks guys. Ya, the gauge cluster was just a temporary setup till I finish the new dash.

Thanks guys. Still working on the leds after all this time. He's been very willing to try to find a solution but it's not coming very fast. I guess I can't complain seeing as I've had them over a year now. I just talked to him tonight and he finally admitted that he's had similar complaints from other people but he didn't think anything of it because it was only one or two clusters. I've ordered 11. He said he probably would have thought I was just hooking them up wrong if it weren't for all the detail I went into testing them and documenting it. He's now gone through some of the ones I've sent back and sees the problem.
Let me go into a little detail since you're a distributor of their products Doug. It comes down to this... Most of the boards have 4, 8, 12, 16... leds. All built with multiple clusters of 4 leds. 4x1, 4x2, 4x3, etc, etc. Each one of those clusters of 4 leds have a resistor on the board.
Some boards have an extra 2 leds (like the 1 1/2" ones with 6 leds). They have to use a different resistor for the 2 leds to try to match the other clusters of 4. The ones he's been using "mathmatically" work out. In real life they don't. He said that now that he sees the problem he's probably going to stop selling flush buckets that have the clusters of 2 unless someone only plans on using them at full brightness (3rd brake light).
He's sending me back one of the custom ones he built me with a new 600 ohm resistor in place of the original one. He says this gets the 2 leds 'close' to the brightness of the other ones. He's leaving it up to me to decide if it's close enough. If it's not close enough he said the only other option will be to replace all the led clusters with his new double leds which will cost me more.
We'll see where it goes from here...

I had this problem a few years back.....I think that Doug might remember...LOL.... anyways I will see if I can find the leftover resistors and give you the color sequence.

That'd be cool man. I'm hoping Mike can get it fixed on his end. He just sent me back one of my buckets that he modified. I'm honestly starting to think he's just throwing any solution he can my way to see if he can please me. I told him 2 leds in some of the buckets don't change their brightness. They're always at full brightness". He said "I think I have it fixed now" and sent them back to me. I just hooked it up and now those 2 leds just stay at the same brightness as the running lights. They won't get as bright as the others do for the brake lights. It's not even that they don't match the other. They just don't change brightness. Period.
