1996 EB X 4x4

Ok so I re-aquired a 1996 EB explorer 4x4.... I originally picked it up for free... put $40.00 into it... then sold it for 1k... Now the guy I sold it too does not want it and said I can have it back. So, he dropped it off at the house today and left a message on my phone that it's here and the title and keys are in the glovebox.....

OK....It needs to have the valvebody in the tranny rebuilt. It has some rust issues, but not bad. (originally an Ohio truck)... normal wear and tear for 250K. Its a 4.0, auto, push button 4x4. Power everything, including a JBL factory sound system....

What the hell should I do with this thing now?

Scrap or part it out. Sounds like its not worth fixing up. I wouldnt put any money into a truck with 250k and rust.

I'm going to shoot for a grand... but nobodys going to buy it with 1st gear slipping.... I'm looking into what it will cost me in parts to fix the VB....

Ok... looks like it will be scrapped....

The tranny has a busted planetary assembly... dropped the pan and had a bunch of ate up sprag chunks laying in it.....
