ok so when we did the notches on my truck. we werent really thinking fully and tweaked my frame. so now my bed doesnt line up and i cant even bolt the back of the bed to the frame. its not THAT bad. but i would really like for it to be fixed. so i am now in the process of rebuilding the frame from the notches back. not a big project or anything. just something i thought id make a thread about. its also going to be kinda slow since this is my only vehicle and i dont have tons of money.
first i went to the local metal supplier.
bought a 20'x2x4x3/16.
then i cut it down to 4 peices that were 5 feet long each.
learning from many mistakes in the past i made sure to measure a million times before i cut anything. so i measured the frame and how long i needed everything to be.
bascally all i will be doing it cutting of the frame rails from the notches and back. and then welding on new ones with a crossmember. i will also be making new rear link mounts for the rear bars of the kp 6 link.
so anyways. here is my very small progress.
and here is an idea of what the new rear link mounts will look like.
once all of this is done i will be doing a full sheetmetal bed that the floor will be raised 6 inches
