What size material and thickness do you guys think is sufficient for a good framing table?
I think I can get away with using 2x2 1/4... but want opinions

I prefer 4x4x1/4... I have also seen them built out of "I" beams (w6x16 or w6x12) and "C" channel (c6x10.5)... You can use the 2x2x1/4, you will just need to figure out your deflection and make sure you brace it properly...

I've also considered making it out of 3x3 1/4 all over, because of cost... hell, metal is expensive these days...
Yeah, this will be a beefy mofo regardless of the material used... guess I better start shopping around

I know here in P'cola, the more metal I buy the more of a discount I can get.... I try and use some of the contractors I work with to the small stuff when needed.
