Never had shaved doors so got some questions hopefully some peeps on here can help me with. I was wanting to get Dougs door kit he has online as it looks like good quality and I know it runs right since alex has had his on for years with no issues. Anyhow...I was wanting to know what pound rating solenoids should I get? Is it worth the upgrade to add it to 35lbs?

Yea bro, the solenoid won't have to strain as hard and will last longer. Plus an S-10 has a heavy door/latch as far as mini trucks go!

Cool...doug when ya get online or whatever hit me up bro. I would like this door kit with 35 lbs solenoids and alarm please. What should to protect myself from locking out issues? I know there is an emergency button and cable...anything else I should use to be 100% sure that I can get into my truck without breaking the glass? Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help! a hidden safety switch to pop both doors... or two switches, just in case one solenoid goes bad... also, I'd set them up where you had to run the wire to the switch in order to pop it from the outside. in case someone finds the switch, it doesn't have power until you make it have power. Or you can run the safety cable thing, but that is a pain in the butt if you ask me.

I guess I could have a hidden switch or some kind of circuit breaker inline with the emergency switch to apply and disc power. Good idea! A constant hot switch gives the opportunity for someone to find this button and be able to get inside. I ordered this kit last week so it should be in here soon. The only thing I got for backup is the 911 cable and the actual switch. I didnt get the outside battery charger or anything else. I hope this is good...

You'll be fine...it comes with an external emergency button with a barrel key switch...great if you lock your keys in your truck or the batteries in the remote die...just make sure you have one of the barrel keys in your wallet. And really, there's nothing safer than having the manual back up cable....because no matter what you'll be able to get back into your truck..
