Quick question.... where the HELL do i cut my lower control arms to lay out up front? i only have less then an inch till i nail the skid plate to the ground. and the sad thing is i'm only running a 15" rim... i've got 205/60/15's up front for now... till i get my 18's back but they're roughly the same size anyway. i want to save up for the ART Control Arms but i need to fix the rear setup first. (boo reverse 4 link) and i'd love to drag the skit plate so..... any help would....er...um...help. thanks

Vinnie, Are you running drop spindles? You should be on the ground with those tires. If you do have spindles, then for the lower control arm you nee to cut both the raised areas on the outside of the arms and plate them. I'll see if I can get you some pics of mine today..

Thanks Doug.... i saw the re-enforced place on the front of the control arm, and the re-enforcement plate looks like it sticks up a little higher. but i will take a look at what i'll need to do. to answer your question, i am running belltech 2" drop spindles, and am still about 1/2" from laying out. i can run my hand under the front skid plate, but my knuckles hit the plate, so i'm REAL close.
Also, i'm in the process of welding in the stepnotch so i can FINALLY run shocks and lay out, BUT that damn charcole canister on the drivers side is in the F'in way. Anyone know where to relocate it to... i'm thinking of just extending the lines and running it through the notch along with the wiring, then mounting it in the back? does this stop it from doing it's job? does it need to be close to the gas tank for a reason? when i MAYBE install the carb. 350, i won't need it will i?
damn... this is the longest post this board has seen...lol lata

I relocated mine to the passenger side of the truck right above the exhaust mounted on the gas tank crossmember. Cut the ends off of the fuel lines going to the evap canister and extend those with rubber gas line hose... extend the wiring and you're good to go.
