Hey - I'm Chuck here but all other forums I'm Chuck U&R. I found this site via a link from Pilothouse.com. Here's the link - www.s-i-c.org/John.htmI've searched this site but I'm unable to find out more info about this truck - Specifically the frame/chassis used. I have a '52 Pilothouse that I want to drop on to a '76 Chevy 1/2T frame. I know I'll have to shorten it but I'm wondering if there is much more to it than that ? Am I asking for more trouble than it's worth (I have welders, saws, plasma, lathe and some fab experience.) TIA Chuck U&R

This truck is using the factory frame still, with a custom Mustang II front clip, and a parallel 4-link with a small notch out back. If memory serves, the 73-87 full size GM frames are going to be a decent amount wider than the stock Dodge frame. Something like an S-series pickup frame might work a bit better for you.

Thanx - Since I already have the '76 Chevy half ton looks like I'm gonna be doing some cutting and welding !!!
Is that what's called a 'pinched frame' ?

If im not mistaken a "pinched frame" is one that narrows slightly at either the front or rear, and is a smooth transition.... kind of the way a 32 roadster looks in the front..... If I'm not mistaken your looking at narrowing the frame....

Did a quick measure this morning and my '48 frame and my '76 frame are pretty close.

I live in NC - Moore County - Southern Pines / Pinehurst area where I paint new homes for a living - (If you call this living !!!) I've been building and riding Harleys for the last 15 years. One of my Brothers had to make the trip to the sandbox and gave me a '52 Dodge Pilothouse basketcase. I have a rusty '76 Chevy 1/2T in the yard so I figured I'd put the two together and see what happens.

Now that's a nice bike.... If I had to guess your probably around 6'2".... Just looking at the forward controls and the fact the apes are straight up... ;D ....what's the rise on the bars?

Thanx for the compliments on the bike .
I'm not as tall as my bike makes me out to be - The apes are 15's but they pull back a couple inches at the risers, makes a big difference. More comfortable for me to sit up straight, low or stock bars hurt my old back.
