yeah i need to know i was planning on doing it in a bumper of a civic. i just wanted to see if was legal ro not, and if someone know is it legal back home for me, in virginia...let me know if you can thanks....

If they reflect red or amber when they're not on then they should be legal.

You need to check you local laws. Some places they are ok and others they need to be accompanied by signal markers on the sides in the rear. Laws in some states get as nit picky as how much light your brake lights put off. You should be able to get all you need from your local DOT.

yeha, it really does just depend on where you live, and how much of an ass the cops are in your area. Usually, if they're bright enough, you wont have a problem, but it's always good to check with the local DOT like crafty1 said..

Hey crafty1 your in pensacola....what are the laws out there for leds and tail lights? I will be having caddy lights which are DOT approved and rear backup LED bar. Holla on pm and let me know whats up.

Let me double check something tonight.... I think you are supposed to have atleast reflectors on the sides in the back but I'm not sure. I'll get back.

You have to emit and reflect amber or red(front or back) light. And if the front corners or rear tails don't wrap around the corner so they're visible from the sides you have to have side markers/reflectors. So technically if you're running rear LED's or even Caddy's you'd have to have side markers, but I don't think most cops are gonna notice or try to get ya for that... |
