From what I know, remove dash panel, remove stereo, disconnect airbag switch, drop glovebox door and remove switch there, then remove guage cluster from truck, then remove then disconnect the switches that tell the truck that the doors are open, remove the HVAC controls and then you should be able to start yanking the dash out...
Most of that, I believe you have already out... all the people I have seen with the dash removed, the wiring harness is still intact. in fact, as long as all the wiring is left under the dash, no wiring should come out in the course of removing the dash...
you could possibly remove a large chunk of the ducting from within the interior without removing the dash... I am guessing a dremel might come in handy. I'd be more afraid I'd pull or cut a wire that way, but it may be do-able. I don't think it is too big of a deal... I can call my brother on Monday (he's in fl AT dISNEY) and see what he thinks. He has replaced several heater cores on dimes, where he had to pull the dash.

If thats the case, your brother probably has the diagram of the dash that shows where the screws and bolts are all at. Give him a call I guess. I'll call my motor guy (Firestone Manager). I know they have a plethera of information on cars with huge and extremely detailed databases and diagrams. I'll see if he has something about the heater core, which obvious requires the dash yanked.

Also a good idea. But you'd have to remove the dash to do it, correct? I'm not too sure about removing that. Yea, you'd have to pull the dash.... We put Doug's motor harness in his wiper cowl. He has like 3 wires coming out of his firewall, it's hella clean. ;D

Yep, I just need to surface prep the core support cause I'll paint the frame, axle and core support all the glossy black. I'll do that this week. Then I paint the suspension stuff that I want done and then we can have an install party and put this stuff in. Thank god. Its gonna start looking like a truck again. you know, with wheels, lol.

speaking of wheels... have you gotten those mounted yet? I think the first thing that needs to be installed suspension wise needs to be the front suspension... I'd rather find out early if you have any clearance issues rather than later, if you know what I mean...
btw, check the SIC club posts I made in the passworded area

Tires getting mounted this week. I agree too, I want to know for sure on this front end. I'm not having any of this 1" off the ground non-sense. That skid plate is gonna lay, lol.

hey, thanks a lot... my wheels are just too tall... I lay fenderwell really good right now. I am running some big tires, I tried to convince my wife that I needed new tires already, low pros, but she went out there and measured the tread and told me they are not wore down... my bad for marrying a smart gal who knows a couple of things about cars, trucks, and motorcycles... right now I am exactly 3/4 inch from laying frame, but those tires are slightly smaller than stock... also, that tranny plate modification I was telling you about www.s10forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199179 you'll want to go ahead and do that too. It is an easy mod, I haven't done mine yet, but will sometime soon...

John, this may sound weird but I honestly don't remember that plate on the bottom side of the frame. I could have sworn for the life of me that the cross member was bolted to the inner aspect of the frame. Regardless, I'm still trying to follow it. Are you omitting that plate entirely and bolting only the top section of the cross member? Did the cross member have bolts on top to begin with or are we swapping the bolts from the bottom to the top? I'd hate to eliminate mounting bolts if the top and bottom were both bolted and now we're removing the bottom ones with this mod. I got sick right in the middle of pulling the motor. My friends finished yanking the motor. I wish I would have seen the cross member before removing it, shit.

as I told you at your garage, I am not 100% sure if that is a manual transmission thing or not, but I believe it is for both.
With this modification, you'll remove that triangle plate altogether and you will be replacing the bolts coming down from the top with new bolts that will mount from the bottom... I know several people who have done this already and have said it takes less than a hour to do... most have said their hardest part was getting the truck up on jacks to work from below. Seeing the state of your truck, it won't be a problem...
