Maybe Nick can answer a question... is fiberglass resin going to be caustic on say 1/2 inch or 1 inch PVC pipe if I am using the pvc to create a certain design or skeleton?
I have an idea stirring in my head...

Well it depends on what you are using the pvc for. (See PIC) Answer "A": If the pvc is used strinctly for skeletal purposes and the stretch fabric will be pulled taught over it and not really secured to it, meaning, the pvc's shape is used to create over all appearance rather than a structural end point of the fiberglass, then the answer is no, you'll be fine. Answer "B" If, the stretch fabric will be pulled taught to the pvc and the pvc is serving both as a function of shape and structure, then the answer is yes. The resin isn't caustic to the pvc, however the smooth surface of PVC will not create a strong bond between the items being adhered to it using resin, i.e. the fiberglass. In such case, I would scuff the surface and use epoxy on the fiberglass and the strech fabric where it makes contact with the pvc. After the initial layer is on, subsequent layers using resin will not matter, they will not penetrate the epoxied area to disrupt the bond at that point. Hope I didn't confuse ya.

nope did not confuse me at all. My thoughts are more towards a combination of A & B, whereas the skeleton is mearly used to achieve the overall cosmetics, however some points of the fabric would need to be attached to help achieve the deisred goal. I had already taken into consideration that in order to attach the stretch fabric to the pvc that the pvc could be scuffed good with 60 or 80 grit paper and epoxy glue... I don't know... you know it is when you get to thinking about things...
I was more concerned that the resin and subsequent chemical reaction would eat away at the pvc...
We'll see, I am still drawing up ideas...

no you should be good to go with the resin. Think of it this way, if resin doesn't eat away the abs plastic of most interior plastic pieces, then the resin shouldn't effect the pvc. I believe the pvc is a more dense version of abs plastics.
