On my 2nd gen, 2000 S10, all the wires in the engine area lead up to the driver side firewall. Is there a plug under the dash on the driver side that I can unplug and slip through the firewall to pull the harness out on the engine side of the firewall?

Yea, there should be a plug to separate the in cab wiring from the engine wiring. That's how it is on the 1st gens.

Yeah...there's something. If memory serves, the engine bay harness should have a bolt running through the middle, just like the first gens, 8mm I think...and then it should separate from the cab harness.
