1st off, I'm a noob around here with big ambitions and I'm sure we'll all get along just find in the wonderful world of minis. Information is power and forums such as this help get that info out there. So, I'm glad to be here. I heard about S.I.C. through Frank (Vio0633) Club Pres of the Florida Chapter.
Through some talking with Frank, we though it might be a good idea to maybe start a chapter in th4e midwest, St. Louis area. Nothing is set in stone as of yet but I was asked to provide a Bio with some pics of the truck and a laundry list of project details.
So, here goes. PLEASE don't mind the "before" pics. Its when Fast and Furious came out and the Ricer virus nearly got me. Since then, I've come to my senses and its going from the Xtreme package back to the original look, with some Sonoma-ness added in there.
Bio:
Nick Zigaitis
St. Louis, Missouri (area)
I was a Navy Corpsman for almost 7 years. I was blue side with the Navy and then cross branch swapped to the Marine Corps and finished up my time and as IDC for a Marine Unit in Topeka Kansas. I am married (Kelly) and we recently added a daughter (Lily) to our home. I have a healthy background in fiberglass and composite work untilizing molds however, most items I've constructed thus far for the truck are all Skeleton based. I have spent the last year solid working on the interior alone and constructing HVAC fiberglassed into the glove box, TV into the dash, 4 Amps and 3 Subs into an fiberglass enclosue behind the seat of a regular cab with zero seat click loss and full recline. I've also made a fully fiberglass, non-oem console based center console. Fiberglass can be easy but its mostly time consuming.
Over that year, I bought in an inventory list of parts for this build and now that the interior is done and in primer for paint, the suspension work has begun. The truck is heavily under the knife and the next time it rolls, it'll roll on a ART Roadgrater, Tube Uppers and Lowers and a 18/20 combo, Brushed aluminum scuba tanks, braided steel air and brake lines, and the list gooooooes way on. Like I said, I have big ambitions. Cause of the paint scheme, I'm calling it, "Shades of Grey".
